LifeGivers Follow-Up on Counseling Others

Last night our ladies met at the Larry J. Ringer Library in College Station for an evening of fellowship and teaching. The subject matter was biblical counseling, and the feedback I got from my wife was very good.

Biblical counseling is not just important for women, of course — it’s important for all believers. Every one of us has been entrusted with the message of reconciliation, and counseling involves applying the Gospel or the Gospel’s implications to someone’s life in a way that is faithful to Scripture and helpful to that person. It is very important, therefore, that we understand how people change.

Recently, Andrew Ray of CCEF sat down with Dr. Tim Lane and Dr. Mike Emlet to discuss some typical misunderstandings concerning how people change. This audio clip is about 12 minutes and is well worth your time. You might also be interested in the book How People Change, written by Lane and Paul David Tripp.
